About the event
Setbacks, frustration, regret and pain are just some of the difficulties inherent in the journey of recovery. In this workshop Hunter will introduce participants to the power of self-compassion to foster resilience, inner strength and overall well-being in the face of these difficulties. In learning how to show up for themselves, participants will leave with a handful of new skills that reduce shame and self-criticism, support sustainable progress, regulate the nervous system and boost confidence. Join us at Kilter PT for an hour of learning, guided exercises, Q&A and community.
This 1-hour event will start at 5pm on Wednesday 10/22 at Kilter Sport Performance and Physical Therapy. It will consist of teaching, experiential exercises and Q&A time.
COST: $55 (current Kilter clients get 10% off)
What is Self-Compassion?
Self-compassion is a research-based protocol designed to teach us how to show up for ourselves in the face of the difficulties and setbacks inherent in life. It has three core components: mindfulness, common humanity and kindness. With these components we can learn to stop over-identifying with or running from difficult thoughts and emotions, remember that we are not alone in our struggles and treat ourselves with the same kindness we would show to a loved one. The research on self-compassion has shown that it builds resilience, increases overall well-being and reduces negative states of mind.
Who is Hunter?
Hunter Lee is the founder of Flourish JH, which offers one-on-one coaching services as well as mindfulness and self-compassion workshops, particularly for athletes and other high-performers. His coaching is based on the foundational belief that each one of us is creative, resourceful and whole. His self-compassion work is geared towards developing resilience and sustainable motivation in the face of adversity. Outside of work he can be found moving through the mountains on a variety of sticks, wheels and shoes.
